Every inch of space is well-used, which is best visible from the fully equipped kitchen that opens to the glorious drawing-room, which sports high-cathedral ceilings with exposed beams and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Neighborhood

PETERSFIELD:
The gorgeous house is situated in the glorious countryside of the South Downs National Park, close to the ancient market town of Petersfield. Explore the lovely town and its town square with regular weekly markets. Visit the Petersfield Museum and Flora Twort Gallery, the Physic Garden, and the Norman church of St Peter’s. There is plenty of theatre, music, art, and sport, and the town and its satellite villages are blessed with great pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Petersfield is the perfect base for a walking or cycling weekend or holiday, being surrounded by a pretty network of lanes and superb public footpaths, giving visitors access to the beautiful and varied unspoiled countryside in every direction.

THE DOWNS
This beautiful countryside consists of the South Downs, including Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Butser Hill to the south, the Hampshire Hangers and Downs to the west and north, and the tree-lined hills of Hill Brow and Durford to the northeast. Petersfield is also ideally situated for access to the South Coast and London and is within easy reach of many of the South’s other great attractions such as Winchester, Chichester and Goodwood, Portsmouth and its historic dockyard and cross-channel ferries, and the beautiful, crystal clear chalk streams and rivers of West Hampshire.

COWDRAY PARK (9 miles)
Cowdray Park is a country house at the centre of the 16,500-acre Cowdray Estate. It has a golf course, and it offers clay pigeon shooting and corporate activity days.

COWDRAY PARK POLO CLUB (9 miles)
The estate is also home to the Cowdray Park Polo Club, one of the leading polo clubs in the United Kingdom. Over 450 polo matches are held at the park each season. The highlight of the polo season is the annual British Open Polo Championship, for the Gold Cup, sponsored for many years by Veuve Clicquot, and now by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Gold Cup tournament starts at the end of June and runs until the Final late in July.

PETWORTH AND PETWORTH PARK (16 Miles)
Petworth is a perfectly preserved market town nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Steeped in history, Petworth has been voted Best Antiques Town. It is a real treasure trove of independent boutiques, cafes, restaurants and accommodation. The town offers a wide range of products and services from flowers, fine foods, books, natural luxury skincare, ladies’ designer fashions, traditional gentlemen’s clothing not to mention the world-famous antiques and arts establishments.
The 700-acre landscaped park, known as Petworth Park, has the largest herd of fallow deer in England.

THE WITTERING’S (25 Miles)
Fancy a day at the beach? West Wittering’s Blue Flag beach is just a 45 minute drive away. Parking is really easy and the white sandy beach and dunes are extremely popular all year round. The surrounding villages host a variety of marinas and access to the water. As well as trendy restaurants and coffee shops.
