Is it a bird, is it a plane…no its Bognor Regis’s very own Birdman.
The event involves human birdmen attempting to fly off the end of Bognor Pier for a prize pot. Bognor Birdman has been operating since 1971 and has always been held on various piers across West Sussex.
From 2010 Bognor and Worthing have jointly held the competition however in 2016 Worthing decided to stop hosting the event and since then its been held in Bognor Regis.
The current record was set in 2013 by Ron Freeman and stands at 206.4 metres.
