Taking 12 months to build, the lodge has been carefully crafted using locally sourced chestnut, Douglas fir and larch, with straw walls from nearby fields creating a warm, natural and deeply characterful space. Every detail has a handmade feel, from the rustic timber structure and branch-like beams to the worktops and light fittings made by the owner using hardwood from Keynor Copse. The result is a charming, treehouse-like lodge that feels secluded, peaceful and completely connected to its countryside setting. The interior is warm, characterful and sociable, with a fully equipped kitchen, generous dining area and cosy lounge space for relaxing after a day at the beach. Outside, the decked terrace is perfect for slow mornings, evening drinks, al fresco meals and unwinding in the hot tub beneath the trees. Located on a rural road in the quiet village of Sidlesham, Wilderness Lodge is perfectly positioned to access the city of Chichester to the North, beaches to the south, Goodwood and South Downs National Park.

We recommend bringing a car to make the most of your stay. The lodge is in a rural location.

Wilderness Lodge is set in a secluded countryside location south of Chichester, around 10 minutes from West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay. It is perfect for guests looking for a peaceful rural escape, while still being close to beaches, Chichester Harbour, coastal walks, pubs and local attractions. Due to the rustic, characterful design, there are exposed beams, natural timber features and stairs throughout the property, so please take care, especially with children.
